„During the job interview, I came away with a very positive impression of ECL and the friendly atmosphere in the office. So it didn’t take me long to make up my mind.“ - Jasmin Nikolov

What were your first few days at ECL like, and what has surprised you the most so far?
My first few days at ECL have been varied and exciting. I’ve already learnt a lot of new things and gained an insight into how many different departments work together within the haulage company. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere in the office. I received a very warm welcome.
Is there any area of logistics that you find particularly interesting?
I am particularly interested in intermodal transport and in consolidating and organising groupage consignments, as I have always enjoyed planning and organising.
What are you most looking forward to in your apprenticeship?
I’m looking forward to getting a taste of work in a wide variety of departments and being able to work more and more independently.

Why did you apply for an apprenticeship in logistics?
The logistics sector is complex and varied. I enjoy working with people and am happy to take on organisational tasks. That is why I decided to apply for an apprenticeship at ECL.
So why did you choose ECL, then?
The company’s international trade links and its location sparked my interest. During the interview, I also gained a very positive impression of ECL and the friendly atmosphere in the office. So it didn’t take me long to make up my mind.
What is a typical day at work like for you?
I draw up loading orders, book shipments, sort through files, check loading times and much more. Sometimes I also drive to the port to find a trailer. What I find interesting about this is that every working day is different and you never know what challenges might lie ahead.
Coffee or tea, please?
In the mornings I like to drink coffee, and in the evenings I sometimes have a cup of tea.
Are you an early riser or more of a night owl?
I like getting up early so I can make the most of the day… but for the same reason, I also like staying up late now and then ;)
