Regular new connection from Luebeck to Philadelphia/USA begins
On 25./26. January 2009 the shipping line Transatlantik began the first regular connection from Lübeck to North America.
We are now able to offer our clients regular departures to Philadelphia/USA from the Port of Lübeck. The ship will call every 20 days and load between 4.000 and 5.000 tons for export.
The first voyage will leave on the 26th January with M/S Transwood. The ship was built in Poland in 2002, and refitted in 2006 at the German shipyard Blohm & Voss.
„M/S Transwood“ will carry mainly paper cargoes from Stora Enso.
However, other paper producers are also using this new line and ECL is convinced that other clients for this service will be found ensuring additional loadings for the Port of Lübeck.
