Increased volumes and reduction in CO2 emissions for combined transport
In 2011 European Cargo Logistics GmbH (ECL) has been able to increase further their combined transport activities.
In addition to the very successful shuttle service to Verona, a 3-times per week train service between Luebeck to Bettembourg and Le Boulou has been in operation. Over 105.000 Tons. (An increase of 19,5 % compared to 2010) of goods have been brought by us via combined transport onto the railway network.
Combined transport offers real advantages for forwarders, frieght carriers and their customers. Not only are savings made in diesel and toll charges, the higher capacity of the trailers also provide a real cost benefit in freight rates.
Combined transport also presents a tremendous advantage for the environment. In contrast to regular road transport our trailers helped to avoid over 6.000 Tonnen CO2-emissions in 2011.
