Luebeck gets a Russian accent!
European Cargo Logistics GmbH, Lübeck (ECL) - a 100%- subsidiary of the Port of Luebeck – Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft mbH-have strengthened their activities in the Russian sector. A contract was entered into on 1.February 2011 between ECL and GRIMEX-Trade & Logistics GmbH, Hamburg, (Grimex).
The agreement is geared towards a co-operation in the Russian market. GRIMEX-Trade & Logistics GmbH is a new company, founded in November 2009 in Hamburg.
The core activities of GRIMEX include freight traffic to Russia via Hamburg combined with a refined customer service. The companies will now combine and optimise the services of the Ports of Luebeck and Hamburg in order to integrate them in the logistic systems of the customers.
Hamburg, Germany´s largests overseas port and central logistics point for containerised traffic and Luebeck, Europe’s most important Ro-Ro port, together possess great potential which can be utilized by Russian companies.
GRIMEX will help customers to take advantage of these opportunities in the most effective and economic way. ECL wants to participate in this market and intends, in conjunction with Grimex to increase the number of customers in Russia.
The signed agreement is to combine and co-operate in the organisation of transport in Europe and Russia. Both companies are sure that the combination of competencies and their joint offers will enable transport services and the customer base to be significantly expanded in the region.
