ECL GmbH celebrates ten years jubilee
It has been ten years since the LHG took over 49% of UPM-Kymmene Distribution GmbH in Karlstraße 7 from UPM-Kymmene Corp and was renamed European Cargo Logistics GmbH.
ECL started business in July 1999 with a team of 26 employees and established itself as a neutral and independent logistics service provider. Since 2001, ECL has been a one hundred per cent subsidiary of the Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft GmbH with around 80 employees in Luebeck and the branch in Rostock.
However, the success story of ECL GmbH already began almost 40 years ago, the formation of “Impaka Importabwicklung von Papier und Karton GmbH“ in July 1970, the cornerstone of a successful development was built. Since that time our company played a significant role in the logistics chain of the Finnish Paper and Board industry.
In spite of several changes with In- and Outsourcing by our clients in the Logistic sector ECL has remained a reliable partner for the forest products industry. Our experience in the handling and procedures of these highly sensitive materials has been, and continues to be held in very high regard by our customers.
Today, our logistics concept also raises a great deal of interest outside the paper industry. Our clients in the steel and timber industries remain assured and confident thanks to the tailor made service which meets their needs exactly as required, and with the quality and professionalism of our service.
ECL will celebrate our ten years jubilee. The directors Gerd-Walter Ahlers and Jörg Ullrich would like to take this opportunity to express their appreciation to all staff members for their excellent performance and commitment.
